DDA25094 “Madrigali – Fire & Roses” from Con Anima Chamber Choir conducted by Paul Mealor

An intensely beautiful programme from Paul Mealor’s choir, Con Anima, who give us a stunning performance of original 16th century madrigals and some modern counterparts, including Morten Lauridsen’s “Madrigali” and Paul Mealor’s own cycle “Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal” – the first movement of which was chosen as the musical centrepiece (reset with the text of Ubi Caritas) of the wedding service for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier this year. This recording features the original setting conducted by the composer.
