Michel Dalberto is a world renowned pianist – he came to prominence in 1975 winning the Clara Haskill Prize and three years later he won First Prize in the Leeds International Piano Competition. Since then he has become acknowledged as one of the foremost interpreters of Schubert and Mozart.

These recordings were made for the Denon label in 1992/3 and now make a welcome return to the catalogue at low mid price.

Born in 1969, Hélène Grimaud is known to piano lovers all over the world. She has toured with many of the most acclaimed conductors and orchestras, as well as having an extensive recital career.

Her Rachmaninov CD, containing a temperamentally assured and mature performance of the Second Sonata, demonstrates a rare level of insight.
